Bartolomeo Maldonado -
General Manager
Bartolomeo Maldonado brings a wide range of experience to his role as general manager of Livingston Restaurant + Bar. He has spent more than 12 years working as a chef and a manager, and he holds two degrees from Johnson & Wales: Food Service Management and Culinary Arts. Maldonado manages the service staff and day-to-day operations of Livingston, ensuring that the experience of each guest is exemplary. He relishes the interaction with guests and enjoys building an environment where guests feel comfortable trying new things, whether they are dishes or libations.
He has built the restaurant’s wine list with the goal of providing guests with familiar choices and innovative items that will broaden their palates, winning the Wine Spectator 2010 Award of Excellence. He also revamps the cocktail program every season, giving guests an array of seasonal and exclusive cocktails from which to choose. His past experience as a chef gives him an inimitable ability to choose wines and cocktails that will highlight and enhance the flavor of the cuisine. The move from the kitchen to the front of house was spurred by a desire to understand how to enhance all aspects of a diner’s experience at Livingston: from atmosphere to service to cuisine to cocktails.
Experience in restaurants all over the country has enhanced Bartolomeo’s understanding of the restaurant business. Prior to working at Livingston, he was general manager at both Eros World Tapas Lounge and Fishmonger Grill in the Atlanta area. Before that he was executive chef at The White Chocolate Grill, an innovative dining concept based in Scottsdale, Ariz., and previously he spent three years with Houston’s Restaurants across the nation, ascending the kitchen ranks up to executive chef. Maldonado also had stints with the Wyndham Resort in St. Thomas, USVI and Buckhead Life Group here in Atlanta. Now at Livingston, he actively builds the brand that continues to make an impact on Atlanta’s dining scene, providing Midtown with an approachable avenue for fine dining.
